Sridevi at Global Indian Film and TV awards by Balaji

Balaji Telefilms Ltd., India's creator of content in films, television and new media, hosted the 1st Global Indian Film & Television Honours (GIFTH)- the nation's first joint film and television awards event.

Sridevi attended the event in a blue diaphanous, flowing Elie Saab gown, from the Fall 2010 collection.

She arrived with her family, daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, husband Boney Kapoor.

Actress Kareena Kapoor performed a medley of Sridevi's hits in honour of the former Queen of Bollywood.

At the event, producer - and daughter of actor Jeetendra, Ekta Kapoor said, "Sridevi is iconic. This generation has no idea about her fan following. Sridevi was a darling of the masses. Kareena and Sridevi shared the same bubbliness and mass connect. I have watched their films Himmatwala and Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai and been witness to the mass hysteria of their audience. I have never seen this kind of mass reaction for any other actress."

Held in Mumbai on February 12, 2011, the event saw six main categories namely Popular, Technical, Programming, Achievement (for which there will be no nominations), Special Honours and Voters' Choice and 30 sub categories.
