Vinod Khanna, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Sunjay Dutt, Rajinikanth, Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal were the original cast of the (sadly halted) epic film. Ramesh Sippy's directorial venture was launched with great fanfare back in 1987. Many portions of the film, comedy scenes, songs were clearly shot but... the film was never completed.

Before you ask - we don't know why. Speculative press back then said it was a fall out between the financers and the director - had nothing to do with the large cast and crew. Sippy's films have always been larger than life with a huge canvas so, in the escalating 80s, I'm sure the budget went haywire and made sense to shut production till the money was sorted. Again, this is all conjecture.
UPDATE: And now with the passing of half the lead actors-- Vinod Khanna, Sridevi-- this will never see the light of day. Sad. Even from the stills, it looks like Sridevi had a cute and comic role... with her usual song and dance routines. It is a loss for cinema lovers as clearly we'll never see the great Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit shake a leg together...
