"She's a very cool Mom"
They bond over movies, shopping and spa days. It's no wonder then that Janhvi and Khushi consider their famous mother, Sridevi, a friend as well as their idol. On her part, the English Vinglish star says, "At home, I'm like any other mum'.

It was 15 years ago, but the delicate memory of the moment when she first felt like a mother is still alive in Sridevi's mind. The actress sat in the balcony of her Mumbai suburban apartment in 1996, looking at the tiny, infant dresses hanging on a clothes-line. She had lived in that very home at Green Acres as a single woman and a movie superstar, then settled into marriage there with the man of her dreams, producer Boney Kapoor.
"But the most beautiful phase was when I came back from the hospital after (daughter) Jahnvi was born," she remembers today, a smile lighting up her face. "I saw those soft, baby clothes hanging onto colourful clips. I couldn't believe that here was a small kid in my house and I had given birth to her. It was overwhelming."
Three-and-a-half years later, Janhvi's sister Khushi arrived and it took time for Sridevi to process that she'd had another daughter.
