Filmfare asked key artists from the film industry, who had a long association with Yash Chopra, about what it was like working with him. But of course Sridevi, on record stated as his favourite, had much to say about the legendary producer/director in two of her best Hindi films.
"The fact that Yashji is no longer with us has yet to sink in. I feel at this moment he's still around. We'll all soon be seeing his new film. Working with Yashji was a dream. Two of my major films, Lamhe and Chandni, were directed by him. They were dreamy, feel-good films and shooting for them was so much fun. Not one day did I sense any tension on the set, everything went off smoothly. He ensured that positive energy abounded on the set. And it wasn't just the stars he was concerned about, he looked after every member of his unit and made sure they were comfortable. Though we didn't meet on a daily basis, whenever we did, he was full of warmth and affection. He was sweet and understanding and there can never be another quite like him. An amazing man. We met at the premiere of English Vinglish and then at Amitji's party. After the premiere, he waited for 25 minutes for the crowd to disperse so that he could come and talk to me."
