One to point finger: Sridevi in Laadla (1994)

Sridevi on the sets of Laadla (1994). Before there was Miranda Priestly [a near-perfect Meryl Streep], there was Sheetal Jaitley as the imperious and intimidating uber boss. The oft repeated 'You understand, you better understand' dialogue in the film became tremendously popular with the masses - its repeated ad nauseum in the movie. On any other actor, this would have grown weary and tiresome... but full marks to Sridevi for toning the phrase in a different manner throughout the (melodramatic) film.

All that finger wagging... works!  Only because of the magic of Sri.
