With more than a passing resemblance, Divya Bharti was indeed a big fan of her predecessor Sridevi. Shame about her tragic and shocking death.
Many have insinuated all sorts of rubbish - BUT Divya was a fan of Sridevi and Sridevi only had nice things to say about Divya Bharti and her all too curtailed life - I mean 19 is so painfully young and Divya had showed so much promise.
Film producers and stylists deliberately tried to recreate a Sridevi look on young Divya as Sridevi became too expensive for hire and too busy to work regularly in south movies - indeed even in Hindi films. There are so many images one can find where Divya Bharti's look is undeniably inspired by a vintage Sridevi image/look/style. Either deliberately or coincidentally the two were linked together from day one - in fact it was used in early publicity shots and press, comparing the two. Divya was 11 years younger than Sridevi and a fan of Sridevi - as most people of her generation were.
