| Sridevi in Nigahein |
Unlike Hollywood, there are few sequels in Bollywood. Led by Sridevi's superstar power, she's acted in one of the few. Nagina was a surprise blockbuster, Nigahein was a surprise box-office flop. Well, it broke even and made a nominal amount for investors, but nothing to write home about. Upon recent re-watch here's what we are sure of; Sridevi looked absolutely stunning, acted and danced well but the movie had an entire feel of deja-vu, with absolutely nothing new. Apart from Anupam Kher as a villain (where he himself said he gave his worst performance) and a rather insipid Sunny Deol - who has a long, torturous history of being left in the shadow of luminescent Sridevi. More on that later...
Anyhoo, for Sridevi fans, Nigahein is worth a watch. Her finale dance is spectacular. As usual.
