The songs, the glamour, the gorgeous locales all overwhelmed the film and people tend to put aside the stellar performances that were in Chandni - that makes it still a classic today. A rom-com with major dramatic tension, the performance of every single actor in the film is stunning - be it Rishi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Waheeda Rehman and of course above all, the superstar who held the film up in her delicate shoulders, Sridevi in and as Chandni.
There are two moments in particular that stand out; when Rishi Kapoor tells her he would leave her had she been crippled in an accident. And the last act when Rishi meets Sri in her house. The two tour-de-force performances got swept away in a sea of chiffon, but upon re-watching, its incredible. They both make it look so effortless - mark of any great actor. Both deserved awards and further recognition.
