So many, many producers, choreographers, directors and writers pitched the two grand dames of Indian cinema a film but nothing concrete came through. Fans would have gone berserk to see Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit share a frame but for years it never happened (apart from the odd award show).
It took Sridevi's return to film and a promotional gig on reality TV that brought the divas together. And it was magical.
Aeons ago, the two were cast in Zameen (scroll through the archive for more) but a lack of funds brought the production to a halt (the movie had a massive cast - not because of the leading ladies) and shared brief screen space. alas, the movie never saw the light of day.
After both their returns, rumour has it several writers had thought of creating a script worthy of Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit but then the cosmos had other plans for the superstars...
