Celebrating Gumrah: Sridevi's iconic performance

• The film was well received - with glowing reviews for Sridevi and Sunjay Dutt -  and was the seventh highest grossing film of 1993.

• The film was titled "Seema " when it was announced in 1991 and would have been yet another title role for Sridevi. However, with the star-power and wattage of Sunjay Dutt, the team changed the title of the film to Gumrah.

• Speaking of, exactly thirty years before that in 1963, Sunjay Dutt's father Sunil Dutt acted in the film Gumrah!

• The unofficial remake of Bangkok Hilton (starring Nicole Kidman).  Before the lawyers come striding through, the movie is so Bollywood-ised, there's hardly a resemblance apart from the basic premise of the movie.
