While the rivalry of Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi was mostly played out in print by conniving reporters trying to pit each actress against the other, Jaya Prada went on record to say unflattering things about Sridevi in the 1980s.
On screen, they perfected the act of sisters, the Andhra girls - and really, when they started off, they were in fact young girls - where petty squables were amplified by the press, heralding a long history of editors igniting paper wars to sell tabloids.
Eventually, there was armistice and perhaps even a reconciliation of sorts, but these two were the most glamorous ladies at war back in the day.
