Sridevi was around 32-years-old here. And dealing with the inherent sexism and misogyny of Bollywood breathing down her neck to either retire, go into character roles or be the mom to her contemporary actors.
Sridevi went into self-imposed hiatus and motherhood instead.
BTW trying to find a clip on YouTube where a stupid reporter asked if she'd be Ranbir Kapoor's mother in a film. Sri answered back, "What? Why should I be Ranbir's mother?!"
Sridevi was not to be messed with!
