Released three decades ago today, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari was theatrically released on May 9, 1990 to unprecedented box-office collections. For a while, it was the highest grossing Telugu film of all-time (till the records were broken decades later). The film was subsequently dubbed in Tamil as Kaadhal Devathai, in Hindi as Aadmi Aur Apsara and in Malayalam as Hai Sundari, capitalising on Sridevi's popularity all across the nation as she was, till date, the only Indian actress popular across the belt of the nation.
Even today, it is regarded as a cult classic of Telugu cinema; India Today cited it as the most influential Telugu film of the '90s.
