As the perpetually vexed perfectionist, Sridevi as Sheetal Jetley Verma was mildly annoyed at any given time in the film. Luckily for the audience, Sridevi's mobile and malleable face ensured it wasn't a one-note performance and her variations helped the audience reluctantly root for her - and applaud her histrionics.
