Sridevi in Lamhe, released on November 4, 1991. Just four days later, on November 8, 1991, Banjaran was released.
Both films landed on screens with great expectations. Lamhe came after blockbuster Chandni, Banjaran was made by the same team and cast as Nagina - also a mega success. Sadly, the follow-ups just about broke even, dampening the spirits of the makers and distributors.
Both films live on with a great following. Lamhe is considered an award-winning classic and easily one of Sridevi's best films of all time. Banajran songs are pure clickbait; each of them on YouTube have over 100 million views, fans beyond Bollywood as Russians, Japanese and even German fans have discovered Sridevi on online platforms.
