Diet Sabya has emerged as a fashion critic collective that's a force to be reckoned with. Well-heeled fashion designers quake at the take-down - despite going on television and stating that they aren't bothered by any of the caustic words (and on occasion appreciation) by the anonymous and thickly veiled fashion fanatics (who are the names behind/funding/writing at 'diet sabya'?).
Originally written off as a troll-site that lived off click-bait captions and titles, their serious deep-dives into the problematic industry, their evidence based side-by-side comparisons of 'gandi copy', them forcing the industry to do better and be better with an ever-increasing following, the Asian cousins of Diet Prada are getting stronger by the day.
The Indian fashion industry is often a self-serving, 'you may not sit with us' elitist little circle, living off sycophancy and various degrees of delusion - and here's Diet Sabya to puncture their petard filled balloons to ground them to reality.
In an era where fashion bloggers can be bought and sold for a Zara bag, it takes guts (and good lawyers) to write any critique of an industry living on the premise that they do no wrong.
We are here for it.
