Sridevi's underrated gem of a film: Jaag Utha Insan... 

She looks, acts and dances like a dream in the film. The late great K Viswanath's only film with Sridevi. 

The great Telugu director passed a few days after his 92nd birthday earlier this year on Feb 2. 

Sridevi at age 21 gives a remarkably dignified and elegant performance at a time when Hindi films weren't at their best era... 

But then, the director always made films that were truly Indian and sublime in spirit, far from trends. His muse, to be honest, was often Jaya Prada, not Sri, who was a far more successful commercial actress at the time. Decades later, in Jaya Prada's own chat show, the director praised Sridevi to the skies for her ability to learn, adapt, perform and deliver.
