Much was written about the film as it didn't live up to the massive expectations from these two Telegu superstars, after the stupendous success of their earlier venture, the biggest blockbuster (at the time1) Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990). Audiences waited for four years to see them together again...
But this thriller, comedy, caper somehow couldn't reach the high benchmark of its predecessor.
I have an inkling the film more than recovered its high cost (mostly on the star salary alone!) but, the movie was declared a flop a month after its release, despite a strong opening.

Personally, think Sridevi never looked better in a Telegu film.
