Kamal Haasan hinted that the film was stalled as Bombay film production units were rather disorganised in the 1980s - he had, by then, worked with production houses throughout the country and did very few films in Hindi (despite the success of movies like Ek Duje Ke Liye and Sanam Teri Kasam. Plausible....
