At the moment, Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit-Nene's dance off is trending on social media - as the latest song of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 hits the net. It's... fine. Both look great. The lighting and face filtering seems a bit... off... or at least odd. Hopefully they can fix it before big-screen release.
As viral as the song is going, we all know there is/was only one dance-off Bollywood-ites ever wanted to see; one with Sridevi and Madhuri! Neither God or Yash Chopra (or choreographer Saroj Khan!) could get the two together during their peak to share the big-screen. Alas. The loss is entirely ours; the audience.
Of all the jugalbandi's Madhuri has done with other actresses (and lesser dancers) the only one that tops the list and matches Mads step by step...say it with me...Dola re Dola with the equally heavenly dancer Aishwarya Rai. Others like Badi mushqil baba (with Manisha Koirala), Dance of Envy with Karishma Kapoor, Tridevi's Oye Oye (with Sangeeta Bijlani and Sonam!)... its obvious la Dixit was a level ahead.
It would have been interesting to see her dance with Meenakshi or a grace off with Rekha (during her Umraojaan days) but... now we're just shooting for the stars. Madhuri herself was a fan of the greats like Hema Malini, Vyjanthimala and of course Helen.
