Boney Kapoor posts rarely seen portrait of Sridevi by Pavitr Saith: Bollywood beauty

Boney Kapoor recently posted this rarely seen image of gorgeous Sridevi on the sets of English Vinglish from 2012.

Originally shot by photographer Pavitr Saith, we love to give credit where credit is due. The year of Sridevi's passing, the images Pavitr took of Sridevi went viral - and he wasn't credited in many of those posts.

When you look at the film media of 1970s-1990s, there are so many photographs of celebrities published - and team members of a photoshoot are not given credit in magazines (I know I used to work for one!).

I would wonder, who shot this, who lit this, who did the makeup? Who styled? Who was the creative genius behind the scenes??! I remember early works of Gautam Rajadhyaksha - how his work stood out. I noted how often Rakesh Shreshta worked with Sridevi (or perhaps that's vice versa as Sridevi was the most powerful person on set any given day!) and I remember a young Dabboo Ratnani, changing the game. Dabboo's work is rather flat now - but early days, he was so original. Lighting, styling, all the shots of stars were so cool.

Now of course, there are so many talents, we can barely keep track. But we love to find new gen photographers who are doing things different.

We have other amazing pics of Sridevi shot by Pavitr in the archive here - we've tried to interview him for the site (and even hire him) but the busy working man has little time for NRI bloggers from after.

Sridevi here in a simple sari with the no-makeup makeup look... so staggeringly beautiful.

"A thing of beauty, is a joy forever..."
