The Tamil original was the last film where all three superstars--Kamal, Sridevi, Rajinikanth--appeared in together.

The most comprehensive fan blog dedicated to India's most beautiful and greatest actress of all-time (in our humble opine!), Sridevi. Sridevi aka Sreedevi, ruled Indian cinema (with awesome performances in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films) in a career spanning 50 incredible years featuring 266 films. Born in Sivakasi on August 13 1963, her untimely and tragic death on February 24, 2018 left a nation in mourning. In our hearts, she'll forever be, the eternal Queen of Bollywood.

Sridevi and Kamal Haasan's poster for Aakhri Sangram: The Hindi dub of Thaayillamal Naan
The poorly dubbed version of the Tamil hit Thaayillamal Naan Illai, which originally released on 14 April 1979, five years later, it was seen in Hindi as Aakhri Sangram in 1984! Though the original was a massive hit, this Sridevi, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth film flopped badly, as expected. Not all things translate for a pan-Indian audience.
