There are images of the actresses on the sets of the film as far back as 1984!
Mostly directed by Shekhar Kapur, completed by the film's producer Sibte Hassan Rizvi.
An entertaining film, but with a huge Sholay hangover, surprising as Joshilaay's story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics of the film were written by Javed Akhtar. The music was composed by R. D. Burman. Which is also true of Sholay, which was famously written by Salim-Javed, the most successful writing duo of Indian cinema. The familiar tropes were... all there.
Left: Meenakshi Seshadri and Sridevi in full costume for the film's finale song.
