News: The Madras High Court has issued a temporary stay on a long-standing legal battle involving a 4.7-acre property on East Coast Road in Chennai. The land was originally purchased by the late actor Sridevi in 1988, but her husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor are now facing a civil suit filed in 2025. The plaintiffs claim the original land deal from decades ago was illegal and are seeking rights to the property. However, the Kapoor family argues that these claims are based on invalid family records and have questioned why a challenge is being raised nearly 38 years later. The High Court has paused all lower court proceedings and will hear the case again on March 26, 2026, to decide if the lawsuit should be dismissed entirely.
