What we’re left with is a digital corrosion: clips of clips, images of images - all fakes of Sridevi. The prevailing image of her circulating on social media, especially in those endless birthday tributes, is now an alternative version of Sridevi… but not Sridevi. Funnily enough, even those who personally knew Sridevi, like legendary actress Shabana Aazmi - posted a FAKE picture of Sridevi in her birthday tribute. The sentiment was real, the jpegs were NOT!
It’s gotten so bad that an upcoming book on Sridevi features a fake portrait on the cover - one that looks more like a distant cousin than the actress herself. A shoddy picture. Talk about judging a book by its cover. We’re already unimpressed... .
