Director Mukul Anand, "The Sridevi I'm directing now in Khuda Gawah is a self assured person, conscious of every move that she makes in front of the camera. She's watching Amitabh step by step. It's fascinating the way the two keep watching each other perform. I think it's a tribute to Sridevi that Amitabh would sit and watch her work. For me it's an unique experience. I don't think there's been anyone quite like her in our films. She can do just about anything. And brilliantly."

Sridevi with Amitabh Bachchan in Khuda Gawah, one of the last, epic Indian film shot in Afghanistan. Sridevi was stunning in her double role. An awesome movie to watch on the big screen for the grandeur and scale of the film - and of course the gigantic stars that Sridevi and Amitabh Bachchan were (and still are) in the early '90s. There was no bigger female star in Bollywood at the time and no other actor of greater eminence than Bachchan Snr.
In a rare interview with MOVIE magazine, Sridevi reflected on working with Big B over the years, "I had worked with Amitabh earlier in Inquilaab but at that time I was too young. I was like a bacchi [child] with a giant. I was in awe of the stature and only had a few scenes as his wife with him, besides a couple of songs. But by the time we got to do Khuda Gawah, we were very comfortable with each other. He is a great hero, one of the best."
Till date, the respect the duo command remains unmatched. Simply the greatest.
