Sridevi is learning Hindi again?!: The actress preps for English Vinglish

Sridevi is taking Hindi diction classes ahead of her comeback film with R Balki's wife Gauri

As part of her preparations for her Bollywood comeback, Sridevi is attending Hindi diction classes. The star will be seen in ad filmmaker Gauri Shinde's project, slated to roll soon.

Gauri Shinde, the wife of R Balki (Paa and Cheeni Kum director) makes her B-Town debut with the Sri-starrer.

No stone unturned

Says a source, "There is no stone being left unturned to make the Chaalbaaz actress's return perfect. Considering that she is facing the camera after a hiatus, she has been asked to polish her Hindi diction. It is a powerful script revolving around her and the makers want her every step and dialogue to be perfect."

Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor says, "They have started script-reading sessions as part of the preparations. Sri is reading the script aloud along with the director and sometimes with the assistant director. It is part of the process before shooting begins."

Language leveller

Adds the source, "Though there was a lot of buzz about Sridevi's return for a while, she chose Balki's wife's project as she was comfortable with him. Balki and she get along fabulously and most importantly they keep chatting in Tamil a language both are comfortable in."

Gauri has also written the film. Buzz is that Sridevi's character is that of a woman who can't live up to her always-on-the go hubby.

Floored!

The source adds, "Balki (who is producing the film) and Gauri both put their expertise in the advertising backgrounds to came up with a tight and compact script that completely floored Sridevi."

Apart from her role rehearsals, Sridevi has also been gym-ing and dieting to look perfect on the big screen.

In the past

Though she features in an ad of late, on the big screen Sridevi featured with Akshay Kumar in Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin (2004).

In the same year, she did a television soap Malini Iyer which was produced by her husband Boney Kapoor and directed by Satish Kaushik.

There was great deal of speculation that she would return to B-Town with Mr India's sequel. Sridevi had toyed with the idea but later gave it up in favour of Gauri Shinde's offer.
