Launched in 1987, the film had an epic star-cast - and what would have been the only film with Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit together. 

Sanjay Dutt was Madhuri's co-star in the film while Sridevi was paired with Vinod Khanna. However, after a portion of the film was shot, the producers ran out of money and the film went on hold. There were some reports that the director disagreed on the film script development too but then... who knows what really happened back in the day.

Perhaps only one of three mujras Sridevi performed on film [one in Gair Kanooni and the other in Telugu film] - an art form she left well alone and to her predecessor Rekha, who did more mujras on screen than any other actress. Ever.

This also looks more of a comedic - albeit graceful as ever - spin on the dance form. Pity the film never saw the light of day - would have loved to see Sridevi directed by Ramesh 'Sholay' Sippy.
