Sridevi acted with former actress, current CM, Jayalalitha in roughly five Tamil films. As a child artist, Sridevi did several films in Southern India, including Aadhi Parasakthi, where Jayalalitha played the titular role while young Sridevi acted as lord Muruga. Directed by KS Gopalakrishnan, the movie had a silver jubilee run (perhaps a better barometer of success than the odious 100-crore club!).
Earlier this week, as Sridevi walked up the dais to receive a medal from the 13th President of India, Shree Pranab Mukherjee, CM Jayalallitha looked on with a beatific smile at beautiful Sridevi. Remnants of their former cine-life possibly reeling through her mind. Sridevi humbly paid her respects to her senior co-star and politician and headed straight to her seat at the 100 year celebration of Indian Cinema. The President of India honoured the actress for her indelible contribution to Indian cinema.
