Fan made video of Sridevi's appearance as a leading lady from 1976 - 2019

Fan made video of Sridevi's appearance as a leading lady from 1976 to 2019!

Yes 2019. Sridevi tragically died in Feb 2018, but she had a cameo appearance in Shahrukh Khan's grandiose Zero, which was released in 2019.

The clip reminded me that the only break Sridevi took in her wildly prolific, multi-lingual, illustrious  career was in 1995. Though she was working in movies, the gap between Chand Ka Tukda (released on 19 August, 1994) and Army (released in the summer of 1996) was over a year.

To put into context, when you look at Sridevi's filmography, between age four in 1969 to 1995, Sridevi had a film release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and/or in Hindi, no matter what.

1994 to 1996 was also the only time Sridevi took extended breaks from filming while she was taking care of her ailing mother. Sridevi was shuttling between the US and Chennai following the horrific, botched surgery on her mother Rajeshwari, that occurred in New York.

After the release of Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhoota in April 1997, Sridevi took a long break till the release of English Vinglish in 2012.

50 years of Sridevi on Indian cinema - an accomplishment like no other.
