Sridevi, picking up one of her four Best Actress Filmfare awards. This one, for Lamhe back in 1992. Possibly the last time an actress won an award for a film that was not considered a box-office success. Now, the 'voting' system of award shows have dramatically changed. The chances of a flop film but with a winning performance is unlikely. Hence the sub categories of Critics Awards and Popular choice and Face of the Year and ... what not.
All Indian award shows need an overhaul; from the sponsoring to execution.
