We have dozens more of this green look from Sridevi in the archive here

Sunny Deol with Sridevi over the years

Sunny Deol with Sridevi over the years. Collage of images from some of the films they did together; Joshilay, Sultanat, Nigahein and Ram Avtar. Such a gorgeous pair from the 1980s in Bollywood. Sunny Deol was six year older than Sri but they were a good looking jodi on the big screen.

Sridevi's house in Chennai: A grand tour by Janhvi Kapoor for Vogue India

The original Sridevi house was palatial, much larger than this smaller one shown in the4 clip - Sridevi moved to a smaller house (which she talked about in interviews in the 90s) as the original palace was too big to maintain, especially when she was hardly there.

The photo makes us nostalgic. We had a Sridevi wall too growing up! Except they were all cut outs from film magazines.

Sridevi as a Vogue Centrefold: Queen of Hearts!

Bought five copies of Vogue when Sridevi was on the cover!

Sridevi as a seductive professor vibe was.... um... a choice.

She looked stunning on the cover in Valentino.

TBT to 1987: War of the roses: Jaya Prada and Sridevi in Majaal

Jeetendra, Jaya Prada and Sridevi in Majaal

Stardust: Dear Sridevi, Your rivalry with Jaya Prada, is really too much. Despite her efforts to make up with you, you still resent her and continue to hate her. I believe that you stretched your ego clashes so far that you sulked and fought for top billing for the film Majaal in which you are a co-star with Jaya Prada. Isn't it foolish and downright petty for a top star like you to stoop so low and fuel a cold war?

Jivraj Verma. Poona

Sridevi: "Yes, I'm aware of the cold war between Jaya Prada and me, because people have been going on and on about it. The world has been right in thinking that Jaya Prada and I are not friends, because I am in the industry to work and not to socialise. Once the camera is switched off, I acknowledge no other presences, but mine. But please, I don't hate her, because if I were to sit hating a person it would mean attaching too much importance and Jaya Prada is certainly not worth it. Contrary to public opinion, Sridevi doesn't have to fight for top billing, she gets it, because the audience knows that she deserveds higher billing than Jaya Prada."

Rare still of Sridevi as a lawyer on the sets of Majaal.

The film was produced by Jaya Prada's husband and there was a dance off between the two divas (TBH a better one in Maqsad) that was pretty on the nose about how the leading ladies felt about the other. The actresses were 24-25, spirited in their tiffs and taunts to the other (which we've studiously recorded in the archives!).

Sridevi in English Vinglish: The Sabya saris

Sridevi in English Vinglish: The Sabya saris...

This was the first image that leaked on the internet about Sridevi's grand return. Until then, we didn't believe she was back....

Glorious, gorgeous divine Sridevi in New York.

Rare BW Stills: Jeetendra and Sridevi in Justice Chaudhury

Rare BW stills of Jeetendra and Sridevi in Justice Chaudhury. From the song Saath mere Aaogi, Ice-Cream Ghaogi...

Yes, long before Salman Khan rendered gems like Oonchi hai building or the inanity of Ek Garam Chai ki Pyali ho... there were these little ditties that the critics hated but the masses loved - and these were all songs that topped the Binaca Geetmala (for the gen that fondly remembers that Indian countdown!).

Lyrics don't always have to be soul-searching paeans - sometimes they just need to be pop and fun. There are plenty of English equivalents considered classics with equal measure that scribes hated back in the day; I wanna Hold your Hand, You can Ring My Bell etc have no lyrical complexity and yet were chartbusting numbers that many today consider classics - and hallmarks of their youth.

So why not a peppy Jeetendra Sridevi number - and be unapologetic about liking the songs and the jog down memory lane with it?!

Next year will be 40 years of Justice Chaudhury! I remember doll-like Sridevi as if it was yesterday. The Filmfare features about the cute newcomer "from the South."

Is Hollywood's Kylie Jenner inspired by Bollywood Icons?

Is Hollywood's Kylie Jenner inspired by Bollywood Icons? Cosmetic Moghul and reality TV star Kylie Jenner, 25, channeling vintage Sridevi and Rekha head gear and bling.

Sridevi's look from Nigahein (1989) and Rekha's Sheshnaag (1990).

With 372 million followers on her Insta' she's got a strong South East Asian community following and fan club. A shout out would have been cool... Just sayin'
